The role includes:
- Contribute to the design and engineering of curtain wall and cladding systems, as well as speciality systems (i.e. structural glass, cables, ETFE etc.)
- Understanding of design and build-ability of façade systems including material knowledge and installation techniques
- Coordinate with other project consultants such as Architects and Builders to determine best practice façade design outcomes
- Provide hand-design sketches, and develop reports for all stages of the project from conception to completion
- Preparation of fee proposals
- Write specifications and respond to site and construction-related queries
- Assist and coordinate with other members of the consulting team in the preparation of project deliverables
- Provide assistance during the construction of façade systems including attendance mock-up testing, shop drawing reviews and conducting factory & site inspections
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- Master's degree in Architecture (or 5-year equivalent) or Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
- Significant experience working in the construction industry
- Extensive familiarity with façade systems, façade design, materials and fabrication/manufacture
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to hand sketch for presentation purposes
Client and team-focused - Knowledge of relevant standards and codes for façades and services
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Planning and organisational skills
- Be flexible to meet the varied demands of the role
