Job description
The Regional Finance & Accounting Manager leads the transformation of the Regional Financial Accounting function, Implementation of processes and procedures to establish the Shared Service Center and is a key member of the Middle East Finance leadership team. The role will report to the Regional Finance Director in the Middle East, who is currently also acting FD for the UAE.
The initial focus will be on transforming the Finance Function in the MESA region by establishing common standards, processes, and roles for the core financial accounting processes and by leading the development of the Shared Service Centre in Bangalore, in readiness for the Oracle ERP implementation. A key part of the role will be to develop a strong relationship with the Bangalore Finance team, other Regional Finance Teams and drive consistency in process efficiency and quality.
This role will interact with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally – banks, budget holders, operational finance, country finance Teams. global treasury, internal and external auditors.
The Regional Finance & Accounting Manager is responsible for:
Transformation, Development and Management of The Financial Accounting Team. The majority of the transactional and non-business facing roles will be transferred to the Bangalore Shared Service Centre.
Develop and maintain the financial accounting team strategy, operating model and team structure. Provide and document clear roles and responsibilities and tasks.
Work alongside with HR, to support implementation of Oracle HCM, payroll, and end of service processes.
Become Subject Matter Expert for MESA for General and Financial Accounting in readiness of the Oracle Implementation. Drive continuous improvements in the understanding off the new Oracle system and in turn drive process efficiency.
Staged Transformation of management all accounts payable and employee expense claim processes for MESA. Drive process efficiencies.
Manage all non-project related income statement and balance sheet accounts, and supporting processes. Clear documentation of processes is critical.
Balance sheet reconciliation. Develop and manage the process that allows all balance sheet account reconciliations to be clear and controlled. Clear ownership and review process.
Working with budget holders to set indirect spend targets and providing ongoing support to help manage spend through monthly reporting (variance analysis). Help drive cost efficiencies and provide management insight on indirect cost performance
Develop the financial accounting team skills and provide clear targets for continuous improvement of the function.
Profile
• 10 – 15 years experience
• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA) or equivalent
• Excellent people and project management skills and able to prioritise the workload appropriately whilst managing expectations of stake holders.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
• Very strong ERP system understanding and experience (required). Experience with Oracle (highly recommended)
• Excellent understanding of designing and executing financial accounting processes.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including IFRS.
• The profile of the candidate should be a young high achiever who has been at high quality organisations, both from an education and professional perspective.
• Have strong documentation and reporting skills
